How can I change the page size in Microsoft Word

Custom-designed paper printing is a great method of presenting your clients. It’s ideal for personal notes, thank you invitations, notes, or thank-you notes for other people. But how do you create a custom paper that looks professional? How do you determine the right size and color for your customized printed materials? How can you get it delivered on time?

Most printers provide a standard set of paper sizes that include Letter Legal 8 Letter Portrait, Legal/Business, tabloid, Business/Corporate, and Tri Port. Right-click on the printer’s icon and then click Properties. The General section will list the different sizes of paper. The [Width line should be selected, and the appropriate number should be entered into the drop-down list. If the sizes are already pre-set, alter their values to the ones you prefer. The auto-selections will generally be accurate in most cases, however, you may require some experimentation.

Some printers allow you to select the size of the pages and the color options. These choices are available in the Page Layout menu. To change theseoptions, select the appropriate link for the printer model you have. If you own an HP printer, for example you’d select «printing preferences – size and color».

If you’re running the latest version of Microsoft Office software, you should see a page configuration wizard at the main page, or within the Printing original argumentative essay topics folder in the Office suite. Use the arrow keys for browsing through the available choices. To change your document sizes simply select «change» on the right side of the size of the paper. It is not necessary to press «print».

Certain printers only allow specific properties to be changed while others allow you to alter all the properties at once. To change the size, use the «set print size» command and a valid number. The wizard will ask how many pages you wish to print, as well as whether you would like to include bound margins, side margins or both. Use the keys to set the new page size.

You may be able use the default value when your printer doesn’t support custom page sizes. Many printers will detect the most commonly used sizes for pages and offer you the option of choosing. If you are aware of your paper size from using other programs, like Microsoft Word, you can simply input a larger number into the printing software. For instance, if, for example, you commonly print out six hundred sheets each month, you could change your personal page size to six hundred sheets. The printer would then print 600 sheets on a page. This is the default way to achieve the most efficient results.

When changing the paper size, you may have to click OK twice. Microsoft Word opens two different types of files when you alter the paper sizes. If you click OK twice you will print two documents – one with the new custom size and one with the original standard size.

Printing with the default settings usually requires that you click the «print» option, and then choose a blank document. However, if you need a lot of custom paper sizes, such as newsletters or labels, you may have to click «print» after which choose the name field to type in the name of the new size. Then, utilize the keyboard arrows to choose the new size. If your printer allows you to change the name of the document, choose the name field, and type the name of your new custom size.
